May 8, 2014 – Distribution of Planets by Astrological Mode: I prepared the charts of 346 global earthquakes, from 1973 to 2013, with a magnitude of 7.0 or greater. I used 24 objects: The lights (Sun & Moon), eight planets (Mercury to Pluto), the North Node and Part of Fortune, the Ascendant (ASC) and Mid-Heaven (MC), Vulcun, Transpluto and the eight Uranian planets. In other words, for these 24 objects I recorded the sign that each object was in. The results are presented in the bar chart above.
The astrological modes divide the planets into Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn), Fixed (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius) and Mutable (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces).
Using 24 objects produced a large population of 8,304 (24 objects times 346 horoscopes = 8,304). The average of this population is 2,768 (8,304 divided by 3 = 2,768). The Cardinal mode was 132 higher than the average (mean), the Fixed was +111 and the Mutable -243. That is statistically significant.
Cardinal signs are signs of action. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Cardinal Mode was most prominent. The fixed mode has always been associated with earthquakes. As far back as “Raphael’s Mundane Astrology,” published in 1910; the fixed mode has been associated with earthquakes. The mutable signs are less action oriented and more adaptable, which manifested in the lowest number of earthquakes in our sample.
