September 11, 2013 – 9/11 What Price Freedom: Today, we mourn the nearly 3,000 lives lost from the September 11th terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and Flight 93, which crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
This is not a political blog. The foundation of my posts are generated from an unshakeable belief that chaos, war, famine, geographic earth changes, pestilence and disease; are about to sweep away the world we know. The result will be a better planet earth, however, getting there will inflict untold hardship and suffering on the human race. Billions will die in a blood bath of biblical proportions. The U.S. will be partially destroyed by powerful earthquakes and volcanoes in late 2017 and early 2018!
However, back to the thought at hand, what has transpired in the last 12 years toward stopping further terrorist attacks on the United States? Osama bin Laden is dead. Saddam Hussein is dead. And so are more than 7,000 US soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians in countries far away.
We are continuously reminded of “The Mission,” and instructed to surrender various civil liberties, such as warrant less wiretaps, in exchange for the promise of safety. Benjamin Franklin stated that, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Don’t get me wrong, I am all for protecting America from those who wish to harm us. I just wonder if we are going about it, in the most cost-effective and reasonably manner. The wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Libya have cost an estimated $3 Trillion dollars; and unimaginable anguish and death. How has our stature as a nation changed over the last 12 years? Who appointed the U.S. as world policeman?
The political foundation of this country is the triad of checks and balances; involving the Supreme Court, Congress and the President. Congress has never been despised more, with a recent poll showing most voters want to through every single politician, in both the House and Senate, out of office.
The sum total of all the decisions made will lead to complete catastrophe and disaster in the next three to six years. Life rarely gives people what they want, but almost always what they deserve – eventually!
