A 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake Struck in Papua New Guinea.

April 24, 2013 A 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake Struck North of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea (PNG): The quake hit at 11:14PM GMT, on April 23, 2013. It was 819 kilometers (507 miles) Northeast of Port Moresby, PNG.

As you can clearly see from the map above, the quake occurred just east of the “Ring of Fire” in the PNG region. Here is a picture of Port Moresby:

Port Moresby and the PNG Region was the site of some significant World War II battles. Here is a 5.25 inch gun left over from WWII that is still in place near the city:
