Southern California Earthquake Probabilities Map.

March 1, 2013 Southern California Earthquake Probabilities Map: The probability of a very large earthquake event, in Southern California, increases daily. The darker the color, in the above map, the higher the probability of a major earthquake. The darker brown shows the highest probability, followed by red, orange, tan, light tan/yellow, yellow, gray/green, lime green, darker blue, pale blue, light blue, white, darker gray, and lighter gray. The coast line of California is shown by the dark black line, running through the Pacific Coast Towns of Carlsbad, Oceanside, San Clemente, Huntington Beach, Long beach, Santa Monica, Malibu, Oxnard, Venture and Santa Barbara. The main San Andreas Fault line runs just North of Palm Springs (in the middle right portion of the map) and proceeds up to the North-West. For example, it passes just North of San Bernardino. The San Andres Fault line marks the Eastern Pacific “Ring of Fire.” Notice that the highest probability of a large earthquake, generally, follows the San Andres Fault line. The distance scale is given in Km (Kilometers) in the lower left. 50 Km = 80 Miles. Using this scale, you can see that, at it’s closest point, the San Andres Fault line is 80 miles NNW of Los Angeles. With close to 20 million people, located in the greater Los Angeles area, a large earthquake event would be catastrophic, in terms of deaths, destruction and property damage – not to mention the financial and economic repercussions to the State and Nation!

  1. Isn’t there supposed to be a great earthquake in the near future on the San Andreas fault line?

Earthquake prediction is fraut with difficulty. The “Big One” has been predicted for many years for California. When it will occur is anyones guess. I favor April, 2014; when a series of extremelly difficult astrological aspects come together. Take, for example, today; we had a 6.7 magnitude earthquake in the Kuril Islands, Russia. This area say a 6.9 magnitude quake yesterday. Today’s quake occurred exactly as the transiting Sun was sextile transiting Pluto and a Pisces stillium was trine the ASC, while Jupiter was square the MC/IC axis. This is often the case, in terms of when quakes occur, i.e., when major aspects occul or when planets (Sun, Mars, Jupiter,Saturn, Uranus and Pluto) change sign and are subsequently aspected. The trigger is often planets at the angles.
