June 30, 2012 – 1st Half 2012 Stocks and Futures Investment Results:
Soybeans soared almost 20 percent for the period, while Crude Oil plummeted over 16 percent. Combined means the sum of PIT and Electronic trading. Electronic trading primarily utilizes the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) GLOBEX system. The three major stock indices; the DOW, NASDAQ and S&P 500; reflect the PIT traded indices. The Dollar Index is, also, a PIT traded Index rather than a futures contract. All futures contracts, i.e., Combined or Electronic; are nearest liquid futures contracts. Below is a table by category:

The final day of trading for the first half (June 29, 2012) some strong moves higher in many of the 22 major futures and stock indices; as the on again – off again European Crisis was “off.” Both European and U.S. stock markets, as well as many of the currencies; rallied strongly.
