Some of these unemployment percentages border on Great Depression I figures. When are our leaders going to wake up to the fact that we are headed for Great Depression II and their is not much they can do about it. It’s part of the natural boom and bust business cycle. The more we run trillion dollar deficits to try and fix the problem, the more we increase the probability that the problem we happen sooner rather than later.
The purpose of a great correction, recession, depression, etc. is to cleanse the economic system of unproductive companies and industries, reduce debt either by payment or default, and pave the way for a fresh start. The politicians need to get out of the way. You know what they say, “What’s five economists at the bottom of the ocean? – A good start.”
