Supeer Typhoon Manmadol Rampages Through the North-West Pacific Ocean!

August 26, 2011 – Super Typhoon Nanmadol Rampages Through the North-West Pacific Ocean: While Hurricane Irene gets all the notice, in the United States, Super Typhoon Nanmadol is on its way to becoming a Super Category 5 Typhoon. Currently Nanmadol is 250 nautical miles (465 miles) north-west of Manila and tracking WNW at 6 knots (7 MPH). Nanmadol has maximum sustained winds of 155 MPH, with gusts to 190. By tomorrow (August 27th), Nanmadol will be a Super Category 5 Typhoon with sustained winds of 168 MPH and gusts to 201 MPH! By August 28th (Sunday) Nanmadol will be a Super Typhoon with winds of 150 MPH and gusts to 184. Nanmadol will remain an extremely dangerous Category 4 Typhoon on August 29th. She’ll “weaken” to a Category 3 by August 30th, but still pack winds of 121 and gusts to 150. The northern portions of the Philippines are being pounded by very heavy rains and wind gusts. Later in the month, Taiwan will be demolished by this colossal storm.
