August 23, 2011 – Hurricane Irene Turns Dangerous & Heads for the United States: Hurricane Irene is currently in the Caribbean and rated a Category II storm with sustained winds of 110 MPH. By Wednesday, August 24th; she’ll be a Category III monster with winds of 125 MPH. On Friday, August 26th; Irene will be an extremely destructive Category IV Hurricane, with winds in excess of 135 MPH. The entire south-eastern United States coastal area will be in its destructive path. By Sunday, August 28; Irene will have ripped her way along the coasts of Florida, Georgia, the Carolina’s and Virginia. The flooding and winds could be devastating for New Jersey, New York, and the entire eastern seaboard of the United States.
