August 4, 2011 – – Tropical Depression Muifa Aims for Shanghai: Tropical Depression Muifa has its sights set on Shanghai, China.
Currently, Muifa has sustained winds of 56 MPH, with gusts to 68 MPH and by August 5th; winds and gusts should be the same. Winds and gusts should continue to decrease, as the typhoon moves north-west at 11 MPH or 264 miles per day. By August 6th, winds are estimated to be 62 MPH, with gusts to 78 MPH. On August 7th, Muifa should be off the eastern coast of China, due east of Shanghai. If it continues tracking north-west, Shanghai should see winds of 55 to 65 MPH; which could be problematic for the mega city. The tropical depression should batter Shanghai with strong winds and heavy rains!
If the meteorological estimate of the storm track is correct (see map), the tropical depression should see winds of 34 MPG and gusts of 43 MPH on August 8th, and winds of 19 MPH and gusts of 24 MPH on August 9th. Stay tuned to the “Chaos Sweeps Away the World we Know” blog for the latest news.
