A 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Stuck the Solomon Islands July 25, 2011.

July 25, 2011 – – A 6.2 magnitude Earthquake strikes Close to New Britain Island, East of Papua New Guinea: The quake was 125 miles north-west of New Britain Island and 493 miles north-east of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. July 25th in Papua New Guinea is July 24th in the United States, because of the International Date Line. The quake was located east of the Bismarck Sea and west of the Solomon Islands. On July 20, 2011, there was another 6.2 magnitude quake 1,019 miles east of Port Moresby in the Solomon Islands. These locations border the south-west “Ring of Fire.”
