April 15, 2012 - Belfast’s New Titanic Memorial: Relatives of the Titanic’s victims laid wreaths at Belfast’s new Titanic memorial on Sunday. The liner was built-in the Belfast shipyards, but for years the city ignored its ties to the Titanic.
Hundreds of people gathered to remember the 1,512 men, women and children who perished when the passenger liner sank on its maiden voyage about 350 miles southeast of Newfoundland on April 15, 1912. Among the crowd were relatives of the 28 victims from Belfast who never completed the 3,000-mile journey to New York. Follow the link below for the complete story.
